Chaffee County Search and Rescue-North is a respected, cohesive, highly skilled group of volunteers who are continually trained to respond to the diverse scenarios present in our complex outdoor environment. We procure and maintain quality equipment supporting missions involving mountains, rivers, high desert and lakes. Additionally, we provide outdoor safety education to the general public.

Our team is compromised of highly trained, dedicated, and unpaid volunteers who provide most of their own equipment. The CCSAR-N team is often called upon for incidents over sixty times annually.

With a long history comes an incredible amount of experience. We are proud to be a sought after search and rescue team, as well as holding the Mountain Rescue Association accreditation.
60 Annual Incidents
We are called upon for a variety of incidents, often responding to emergencies in rugged and remote terrain. Some of the most common missions include: lost or missing persons, injured outdoor enthusiasts, and mutual aid response.
